Question: How do you shake/lip trill?

Answer: start off really slow... like really slow.. and make sure you are hitting each partial cleanly and evenly... you might even want to do this with a metronome... and then just gradually speed it up... make sure you keep your air stream steady and think ah ee ah ee ah ee ah... when I do lip trills I think about chewing gum really fast and helps my jaw move to do this... that's what works for me... also people like using their hand to shake the horn... I personally HATE doing that, 1st off I think it looks really stupid, 2nd you don't have control over your horn anymore, 3rd it sounds like crap. Learn to do it with your air stream and your tongue arch and remember too... as you go higher the partials get closer and it's easier to trill... so just start slow and get faster eventually... I don't think there's a real trick to it... you just have to practice... remember... you learned how to walk before you ever thought about running.
